Sunday doesn’t always need another gardening project.
Sometimes, you can simply enjoy the trees you’ve already spent so much time caring for.
Take a chair outside, make yourself something to drink and spend a few quiet minutes looking at your bonsai collection.
You may notice things you missed during your normal maintenance routine.
Perhaps new buds have appeared. A branch might finally be developing in the direction you’ve been encouraging it to grow. Spring growth may be changing the silhouette of the tree, or a species that remained quiet during winter might suddenly be showing signs of activity.
You don’t necessarily need to prune, wire or repot anything.
Observation is also part of bonsai.
Understanding how your trees respond to sunlight, watering, seasonal changes and previous work helps you make better decisions when the time eventually comes to intervene.
For today, however, simply appreciate them.
Have a peaceful Blessed Sunday from Budding Backyard Bonsaist, and enjoy some quiet time among your little trees.
